Services

â–ªTwo prenatal doula home visits, lasting 1 to 2 hours long (enabling the expectant mother, birth partner and myself to get to know each other, and for me to learn best how I might serve the mother and birth partner in childbirth) and a prenatal visit to healthcare provider (optional).
â–ªUnlimited phone and email contact.
▪On call doula availability 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, starts at the beginning of the expectant woman’s 38th week of pregnancy, available for emotional and informational support, and the onset of labor.
â–ªContinuous doula labor support begins from the time the laboring mother requests support, through early postpartum period.
â–ªOne postpartum home visit, lasting 1 to 2 hours for processing the labor experience, breastfeeding support, babywearing support, limited infant care, meal preparation, light housekeeping support, mother care, and emotional and/or informational support.
As your doula, I am working for you, not your caregiver or hospital. Throughout our relationship I will provide the following to the best of my ability:

  • Emotional support, prenatally, throughout labor, and in the early postpartum period.

  • Encouragement and support for the laboring woman’s partner to participate at their comfort level.

  • An experienced and objective viewpoint.

  • Assistance in obtaining information in order to make informed decisions.

  • To facilitate communication between the laboring woman, her partner and healthcare providers.

  • Suggestions and techniques to enhance labor and ease pain.

  • Breastfeeding support.

 

As a Doula, I  Do Not:
  • Give medical advice, diagnosis, treatments or clinical procedures.

  • Make decisions for or on your behalf.

  • Promise a pain free labor or birth.

  • Promise any specific health outcomes for mother or child.
